The Council of Europe and Amnesty International have acknowledged that the Roma communities in Europe are subjected to psychological and physical violence by groups of non-Roma European citizens who are waging a war of hatred and endemic discrimination toward them.

JRAN reacts to passing of Bill C-51‏

By:

Yesterday's passing of Bill C-51 was a troubling occurrence. The Bill in it's current form does not show respect for civil liberties in Canada and would marginalize certain communities in a discriminatory and similar fashion to previous governmental policy which has singled out refugees. We are disappointed that such a substantial number of Parliamentarians supported the passing of this Bill, which does not adequately allow for the necessary oversight and accountability of Canada's security agencies while also granting the same agencies unprecedented resources and authority. JRAN however, remains committed to working with all parties to ensure the rights of all people in Canada are protected.
